Ever since playing TS1, I think I always found the game like a sitcom. so in retrospect, I play in a mix of reality with a tiny bit of sitcom fantasy (usually a dream or a fable). I think I also play this way because...I technically have sooo many other games of magical tales and adventures with beautiful stories and open-ended possibilities to said stories.
The Sims is my first and only game where I can really relate and just be me: the girly 20 something who isn't afraid to game in her own "girly way" (as my sister would tell me  ). When I was very very young, I actually thought that games were supposed to be violent or destructive. Mind you that's the impression I had from the games my older brother used to play. But then I when I was shown the sims, It really showed me that playing house, designing, storytelling and all around "creation" could be apart of a video game aspect. That was a big deal for me when I was little, and I still think about that while playing the game actually lol.
I love playing with a family throughout a generation. It's like going through seasons and seasons of a show except it's unfolding every day and you never know what's going to happen next. And It's that kind of play that always keeps my mind more and more than any other playstyle.
That being said, I understand those who play with supernaturals, I just usually avoid them. I play other games with them, so I understand. I just get too much of it after awhile, so the sims is my wind-down.
