Overall, cartoony but ideally a mix of both is good. Sometimes Sims 4 gets way too exaggerated with it's sim body proportions/details (Bella's crazy tiny waist) and certain objects/environment look too sharp or w/e. But overall the Sims thrives best off of the cartoonish look as the series has always been cartoonish in spirit.
