Do you like magic? How about spellcasting? Competing with friends to find out who has mastered more tricks? Or, have you ever found yourself waving a magic wand, only to realize it doesn’t work the way you had hoped?

Simmer, have we got some news for you. More accurately, have we got some news for your Sims! This one has been a long time brewing, and we hope you’re entranced by The Sims™ 4: Realm of Magic*, coming to PC and Mac on September 10, 2019 and console on October 15, 2019. Read on to learn more about this otherworldly pack.

Welcome to Glimmerbrook

It's a quiet town. Family homes. Places to hang out. A dense wooded area with a mysterious pathway. Wait, what is back there, Simmer? Where could this not-so-secret secret trail possibly lead? Well, if your Sim has any bit of adventure in their personality, they'll want to know. And what they'll discover is a world unlike any other in The Sims 4. First, a quick warning: Once your Sim goes through that portal door, they won't be able to un-see this enchanted world. And they certainly won't want to leave without learning a few spells!

Gettin' Crafty

Speaking of spells, who better to learn magic from than the best? Once through the portal, Sims can meet wizards who just might teach them a thing or two. Plus, Sims can get experimental with a giant cauldron, collect elements to make interesting potions, and even test their skills against other aspiring spellcasters. This is gonna be good. Wicked good!

Wardrobe for Wizardry

Creating spells is great and all, but don't forget about dressing the part. To get your Sim in the magic-making spirit, they can don cloaks, celestial dresses, accessories, and more to blend in with other spellcasters or stand out among the crowd. What will your Sim be wearing when they master the recipe for love potion or when they finish that challenging quest? The choice is yours!

  • @WolfNate The designs and beauty The Sims Studio creates for this game truly is an eye candy!

Got so many things to analyze! Lookie at Aine's wand so pretty!

I watched the trailer twice, and I'm curious to know if the sim in the red clock was being turned into a witch or wizard, or is the witch performing a spell.

I think she was unlocking his potential, turning him into a spell caster. I think it was called the Rite of Accession? I would assume that's a (hopefully a top tier) perk/ability to unlock, to be able to grant a mortal Magic.

Now I'm really into the gameplay for RoM and want to buy it mostly for that but I can't argue with all this beautiful gothic fantasy decor!

She was stirring the contents of the cauldron with her wand... wonder if that's a default animation, to stir with magic using a wand or no wand I hope without a wand it looks like sort of like "Water bending" or sims can grab the ladle and stir manually.

But I definitely like the kitchen set... I have a Study in my 2-3rd generation of Sorcerer's home. Not sure if the cauldron will fit in it... tho. Hopefully that's a rug they're standing on. I really want to know what other colors the cauldron comes in.

The Bookshelf, I hope it's a functional book shelf, because it doesn't fit seamlessly with the counter tops so it doesn't look like a wall cabinet.

Kind of want a Potion rack to display all the Potions and Curses I've created.

I just want to know about the build materials, the Stained glass windows, What other color patterns do those come in.
  • @MasonGamer Curses are Caster weaknesses not an item. Also the ability to turn a muggle into a mage is exclusive to three npcs tagged as Sages.

I can't... I refuse to believe that, There has to be Curses that spell casters can craft through alchemy, or cast them by spells, to inflict on their victims. I understood Weakness making a return, much to my annoyance. but there has to be Curses as craftable items.

I'm not as worried anymore. The Power to bite and turn Mortals into Vampires once lied with the Grand Master, Vladimir. I feel Sages, Mages and Arch mages are no more than titles given when you level up your Spellcaster, Like Fledgling, Minor, Prime, Master, Grand master.
But I managed to overthrow and Destroy him. These so called "Sages" will share the same fate, and my Archmage will take their place.

It would be foolish to make such a power exclusive to NPCs.

  • It was said somewhere that Curses are connected to failed spells, so I'm not sure whether that's how casters learn them or whether there will be more.

And agreed, @MasonGamer, about the Sages. I think initially, if you bring a non-magical Sim who doesn't know any Spellcasters into the realm, the Sages are who can "turn them" (to use the Vampires word, since I don't know what it'll be yet in RoM). But afterwards, I'd be surprised if Casters didn't learn a way to make other Sims magic too, instead of having to bring them back to the realm every time.
