My teen is progressing very slowly - I'm trying to pack as much into the weekend as possible. Saturday was mostly spent at the Magic Realm, both to complete that aspiration goal and to get her some training from the practical magic sage. (Her mothers also needed to learn the last mischief and untamed spells - they'd long ago mastered potions and practical.) Monday is project day at school, so Sunday will be a big magic day when I can get back to the game.
I discovered that another Sim can help with making potions, though this was a bit of a disaster on the second potion - it failed and everyone in the room passed out from the fumes. Potions take much less time this way, but it doesn't help a Sim to level up faster. Only spellcasting training seems to speed up the learning process. And Sims don't get much fun from training (though they do get social when being trained), so I have to balance the magical stuff with playing on the computer or chess. (They do get fun from reading tomes, at least.) They can also have a conversation while experimenting with potions together.
I wish there were a final rank they could obtain - Helly and Aga have learnt every spell and potion, and Helly has maxed out her points, so it would nice if the game would give her a special title (even if it didn't come with any perks) - Mage, perhaps.
