The good
As a rotational player I cannot thank the devs enough that they tied the rewards to our EA accounts instead of to households.
And not just the rewards, also the questline itself. I just loaded a different household than the one I started with and they are exactly at the point of the event where the first household left off.
That's exactly what I meant when surveys asked about what we wanted to see in scenarios and I wrote give us a goal sims can work towards together! My cooks can do the cooking task, my paranormal experts can do the "ask ghosts at the seance table" task and so on. It creates a sense of community between the individual households, that I really enjoy.
The bad
I just wish that players could attempt the event after it ended. Let's say a month after the end there should be an option to start the event for players who couldn't participate or finish during the original run.
Some mobile game handle event rewards like this. They stay exclusive for a few months, then the rewards are made available by other means (ingame currency or repeat of the event.)

That's a great idea! That way the quest could be a fun way to get items early, but if you can't do it, start playing later, or just don't like quests, you still get the items.

That is amazing! I'm a rotational player too and hardly ever deviate from my schedule, unless one of my Sims goes to college and lives on campus. Then I stick with them until they have finished their degree, but other than that, I play each household for a full Sim week, then move on to the next. Knowing I can start the event with my main household, then continue it with another and match the skills to the tasks... that's awesome! Thanks for sharing, now I'm really looking forward to get into that event.
