Have you tried it lately? They may have already lowered the amount. I made a mod a while back and changed the gain to just one social point in protest, but looking at it now you only get 5 points un-modded, which isn't ALL that much. Seems like it used to be like 20 or something.
In any case, I doubt if the changes affect it at all; I think it's just a lump sum you get without all the social variances calculated in.
