Remembering the good old days....

I often find myself filled with anger when it comes to the sims 4, especially when i see people so quick to defend it. do they not know about the past?

though i remember lots of feelings about past games, through lots of time long gone, i often feel there is so much missing, but do we truly realize how much? i decide to take a trip down memory lane, and all i can say is wow. no wonder i get so angry.

so many great, fun ideas and features. 100+ items per DLC pack. watching this now, just blows my mind and makes me truely realize what we lost.
please tell me this franchise can return to greatness.

check out this video and tell me again why the sims 4 is so great.

Do you think The Sims 5 can revive the franchise?

  • To run The Sims Complete Collection on windows 10, you can get info here. https://simsvip.com/2018/02/09/play-sims-1-windows-10-widescreen-fix/

For verification, I just tried installing "The Sims Complete Collection" on Windows 10 Pro,

I then followed the steps on the link above and can say it does work. only 1 thing i should mention,
there is a google drive link listed in the steps that has a dead link, but there is also the persons name who provided the file also linked, just click on the persons name to be brought to a reddit post that provides an updated version of the missing file from the dead link.

I love different things from each sims game. I love the humor from the sims 1 and that it was actually hard to start a relationship with a sim. I like the prank calls and the fact that you never knew what was going to happen when you opened the game so I saved often. I like the sims 2 for the animations and the fact that my sims felt like they were a family. I miss the likes and dislikes and turn on and offs. I miss the open world and story progression from the sims 3 and that I could make a room match so easily. I love the sims 4 buy and build objects and think they are the best out of all the Sims games. CAS is amazing and I love that building even if it's missing some features. I love how they implemented the gallery and how easy it is to plop down a house when I don't feel like making one. I do miss certain features from other games when I'm playing the sims 4 but I'm hoping it might return in a patch or pack or they add something better that is a mix of the things missing.

I miss things from the other games to like easy death and tea sets

I saw a video by Sim Supply a trailer for Sims 5 and it looks pretty awesome.. It has many features from the Sims 3 as to open world and details that even go beyond the Sims 4..

I don't see why you would be filled with anger by people that are "quick to defend it". This is a Sims 4 forum area. There are people that play the game that actually enjoy it. I know it's terribly hard to comprehend if you have issues with the game but.. it is what it is. I played the first two versions of the game and some console games also early on... so yes I know about the past. I experienced it all as it came out. The same as I'm experiencing this game.
I'm assuming by watching the video you are talking about missing content. This game isn't finished yet.... so why would I be angry or upset that we don't have things like snow or University ect.. they are things that are still to come. I think I'd have a coronary if I focused on needing everything right now other than enjoying the ride.
The things I like about this game off the top of my verses past versions. It looks a heck of a lot better than in the past. The animations are more fluid. It sounds better. Multitasking. I have more control over my sims and their world. I have easy access to change my buildings with the push of a button in most cases. The content that they have brought in is to me much better and almost always more fleshed out than in the past games. I'm just wanting more of it. Am I making you upset by typing this? Do a little yoga (one of things thats much better this time around by the way) It reduces blood pressure I hear.
There is some content is missing that I don't believe will ever come to Sims 4. I also don't think it will ever make it back in future games if it stays geared to be acceptable to a teen or below audience. Like I loved things like cake dancing. I loved the eerie and scary sounds in the Sims 1. I miss Mrs Crumplebottom. I did love Sims 2 also but .. at this point I don't even want to start it up. I use to want too. I would miss too much from this version.

You don't have to defend the game. We all have a different opinion about it. It's nice that you like it, but does it matter to you that some don't? Discontented Simmers get angry when some are quick to defend the game, because their negative opinion is theirs and your positive opinion is yours. They don't want to be convinced to like the game because this person likes A and B and that person likes C and D. Discontented Simmers just want to get their feedback out there to be heard. Well at least that's what I want and how I see it. Of course I can't speak for all the unhappy Simmers out there.

Now do I think TS5 will revive this franchise?
No. EA doesn't care about this franchise anymore. Only about the easy profit it makes. I used to have hope and trust, but they totally damaged it. I don't think we'll ever get our perfect The Sims game.

You are absolutely right we all have a different opinion about it.. and the OP indicated his in his first post. He did mention he gets angry at people "quick to defend" and why.... I replied. So what?
My positive opinion of the game is mine and I can be heard just as loudly as long as I remain on topic. I think for me speaking my positives of the game let's me be heard also.. it is my feedback.. Should I remain quiet if I'm happy with it? What if people want it changed in ways I don't feel is appropriate for my game play style. What if I don't speak up then? Will people say oh no one said they liked that, or everyone agreed they disliked this. What if I enjoy the changes that have been made in this iteration and want them to continue?
I'm not set on changing any minds what so ever. I believe that for the most part people that dislike the game at this point will have a hard road ever being pleased by it. I'm just here.. one voice saying that I enjoy it in various ways. Why would that upset you? Does your opinion count more than mine because you are dissatisfied and I am satisfied?

Yes, that's true. Of course you can state your opinion and everyone's opinion matters and is valid. As long as it is on topic and if it actually contributes to the discussion. Because sometimes when someone is being negative I feel like they are trying to defend the game, rather than just stating their opinion whether it's positive or negative. And that doesn't help anyone. But everyone is allowed to write what they want in the end, you are right.
  • I apologise for derailing the thread. Let's keep it on topic. Do you think TS5 will revive the franchise?
