I really don't see why people are making such a big deal out of it. Obviously it's not a personality, but they're not gonna make a separate allergies panel in CAS for one single intolerance so it makes most sense to add it to the traits section. It just adds more depth and realism to sims which is always good. It would be nice if we could have more traits though so you can add these sorts of things without it taking up too much trait space
They‘re constantly on the lookout for something to be offended about. They’re doing this for attention. Just like the person that made a big deal out of the „hates children“ trait.
I really resent this remark. I am not making my comments for attention. I am concerned about this issue, and would prefer allergies be avoided and removed from the game so that my sims don’t suffer and/or die from allergies.
Look at things this way: Not everyone views life the same way, and not everyone views the Sims series the same way. It’s my right to disagree with having allergies in the game, along with other people’s opinions that they also disagree with having allergies in the game.
Again, NOT an entitlement issue, but a concern of mine.
Allergies are not in the game so there's nothing to remove. Even if they were (spoiler: they're not, this is hypothetical) you wouldn't have to choose the trait for your sims.
What is the real issue here? You're concerned about something which isn't in the game. You're concerned that Sims 4, of all games, will have sims suffering and/or dying from it. Sims 4 has a lot of death types, but they are goofy deaths for the most parts. Gone are the Sims 2 days where illness could kill sims or the Sims 3 days where you could get an allergic reaction from picking wildflowers -- in Sims 4, illness gives a temporary buff which gives you tiger stripes or something and apparently, a dairy intolerance is going to make your sim fart for a few hours, but only if you allow the sim to have lactose intolerance to begin with.
I don’t want my sims to die and/or suffer from allergies. It’s extremely personal for me. The other deaths don’t bother me (except when a favorite sim of mine dies of old age) then I feel a little sad about it and then get over it). I understand about sims dying from fire and drowning because that happens in real life. But thanks for being nice to me about my opinion, Felicity. I appreciate it.
This isn't a thing in Sims 4. That's the point. Your Sims will never suffer from allergies. Even lactose intolerance is completely optional. It won't affect your Sims if you don't want it to. But other people want lactose intolerance. They may even mod it to make it worse. But it won't affect your Sims.
