That does sound very excessive. Do you have a lot of tables in the game? I think the game does serve other people who happened to be in the restaurant before you.
I think for the purpose of this game, they should just prepare your food right away. We don't have a whole lot of time in game. Right now, my restaurants range between 3-5 hour waits. That is too much.
Don't know I just download lots from the Gallery. It just my sims might go out for supper but what's suppose to be their supper turns into their breakfast. Or if they go out for lunch their "lunch" turns into their "Supper"
