@Kimmer - if you still enjoy reading, I really recommend giving the HP books a go. The first 2 books are so imaginative and world building, the way she wrote it made you feel like this could be happening around you. Of course they're not perfect and the first person point of view makes Harry do some really dumb things in the name of story progression, however, they're still worth the read, even if you don't like Harry. The world building is just amazing.
And I'll share a story that I don't think I've ever told anyone. HP book 4 saved my life. You see, I didn't pick up the Potter books until I was an adult. I was in the military, deployed to Iraq and my dad sent me the set. I fell in love immediately (I desperately needed an escape) and I couldn't put the books down. One day on a convoy, we took sniper fire. I got hit on my side and I, luckily, had placed the book under my vest on my side. The book took the damage, I broke 2 ribs, but I was alive. I'll always have a special place for book 4.
