Roast duck & other new recipes?

Does anyone know how to get the Sims to learn how to cook the new recipes that came with either the wedding pack or patch update? One of them is the Roast duck recipe. There is also a Tartosa fruit dessert and some Indian recipes. For some reason my Sim is not able to learn to cook them at home.

    Yep, seems that way. I found the old thread where you talked about the only-salads thing when I first started working on it, but tried a few more things because the game has had a few updates since then and it's definitely more than salads. Once I got a sim with the lifestyle, it became a lot easier to check if something is tagged as healthy or not. If it is, she gets a health food-nut moodlet from eating it.
    I was especially pleased that whole wheat bread counted, because I always need at least one 'snack' food for when I want to top off the hunger motive but don't need an actual meal. I usually use bagels for that.
  • Chickpeas are totally delicious with pasta, especially in a nice sauce with tomatoes and leeks and a red bell pepper or chile pepper :)

  • @JaiSea if you buy the buffet table from wedding stories, not sure if it's on all the buffet tables, you can purchase the meals individually. There are some really nice new recipes with the pack. The Roast duck recipe is available to eat at one of the food stalls on Tartosa.
  • @JaiSea You're welcome! :smile: I think these are the new ones: Dal Makhani, Gulab Jamun, Mutton Biryani, Roast Duck, Tartosian Fruit Tarts, and Sweet Buns

    @83bienchen thank you :smile:
  • @Stormkeep oh nice I didn't know there were more recipes that come with that lifestyle trait. How did you get the trait?
  • @Stormkeep thank you. I will try that next time I play. I've never seen that come up for me. I guess I let my Sims eat too much mac and cheese or something lol

    The non-special recipes that count as healthy include all salads (even fruit and watermelon salads), spinach fritatas, steamed fish, fish tacos, whole wheat bread, and grilled fruit. Pretty much everything I 'thought' should be healthy that I tried so far has been. Once the sim has the lifestyle it unlocks a new pie menu option on the refrigerator to "cook healthy meal" and there's somewhere around a dozen+ new things to cook there. Stuff like "Scrambled egg whites and turkey bacon" in addition to the chickpea items I mentioned already.

  • I might just not care about these particular recipes but I think the exclusivity makes them a bit more special for a wedding.
