I finally settled to play Realm of Magic, and while I knew children can't really *be* magic, I was very surprised to see they are completely removed from any and all magic gameplay.They can't drink potions, can't have spells cast on them. What, pray tell, is the point of having a magical family like the (bugged) bloodline trait supposedly encourages us to.I can cast Scruberoo and clean random strangers in the street, but my own children whom I'm raising, not ?And this batch of Potions of Plentiful Needs I made specifically for them, I guess I will have to throw it away.I know they didn't want to have distinctions malevolent and benevolent magic, but there is one (1) practical spell you can cast on other sims, so why not allow practical magic on children (and toddlers), and let the zapping and other less than commendable stuff disabled.What's the fun in being a witch spellcaster if you can't magically clean dirty diapers and kids playing in mud ?One more disappointing thing to add to the pilehttps://i.imgur.com/JaPK2qJ.gif

Could we at least be able to use the beneficial spells and potions on the entire family. At least they would feel more included into the occult experience that way.I gave this as feedback in the survey as well.

It would be sooo useful to be able to cast Scruberoo on toddlers. Really sad they didn't include it. :'( I mean, it wouldn't even need more animations than we actually have right now, does it?

it's largely because of attitudes like this that the game is now in the state that it is - it's EA's game and WANTED PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND the importance of doing things by the book when dealing with children rather than taking shortcuts using spells - I DID find this thread 6 years after it took place because in summer of 2025 I decided to play the game mod free for a change and in the early stage I had two house members die via fire one of them a kid - I WAS able to get the adult restored to its avatar via dedeathify but much to my dismay the kid has to wait how long I dont know perhaps until it's an adult even which is a bit of a bummer I WAS wanting to not only get the kid put back in his body but also RETURNED to his family since HE WAS VISITING the house when he died so NOT ONLY was his avatar taken from him but his family as well and apparently he cant have EITHER of them back until "his GHOST becomes an adult???" - THIS EA I do find UNACCEPTABLE ok - I CAN understand the logic you demand on not shortcutting normal activities by using magic on living children but IF THE KIDS DEAD how the hale is it REALISTICALLY supposed to "mature into an adult HUMAN BODY when it DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A BODY" - DO NOT LECTURE ME ON MAGIC when YOU FAIL TO GRASP the reality of THE SPIRIT WORLD and the fact that IT IS SEPERATE from the physical plane altogether. Correct this EA if you DO EXPECT to be taken seriously. THANK YOU.
