Yes, you can have as many romances as you want, but if your sim get caught cheating or blatantly flirts in front of another romantic interest their relationships will suffer (a lot). If you have the Sims are set on full autonomy, they will also flirt spontaneously. Oh and by the way, welcome to the forum. :)
