One way you can adjust for flirting autonomy is with the Unflirty and Jealous traits. Unflirty sims are less likely to flirt with people autonomously, and much less likely to respond positively if someone other than an established partner flirts with them. Jealous sims will get angry if a partner is flirty with someone else. Well, most sims will get angry if a partner is flirty with someone else in their presence, but being with a Jealous sim will make the relationship consequences higher.
That is not exactly true with unflity sims, they can attempt to autonomously use flirt options and sometimes it don't work but sometimes it does work.
Jealous sims are more likely to get tense than angry generally, often wondering where their partner is and what they are doing outside what you wrote.
