I've been in more weddings than I can count--not as the groom (I've done that once), but as a singer. My friends always asked me to sing at their weddings, rather than serve as a groomsman. The situation you described reminds me of something I saw happen once. The groom flirted outrageously with one of his new wife's bridesmaids during the reception. She threw a glass of water in his face. The groom's brother yelled at the bride, and the bride's brother stepped in to defend his sister. Some cooler heads prevailed, but let's just say there was more than a bit of tension and I said my goodbyes very early.
