Update: It worked. The only problem is that the BF won't sleep with his GF even though their romance and friendship bars are at max. He naps in the bathtub.
@orenjiAi suggested to assign beds. If this didn't work, try just assigning it for room mate. Your sim can sleep any where, so it doesn't matter if it is assigned for them. BF may be registering it as your sim's bed.
