Do to the fact that you depend on mccs/mods to play your households & not playing vanilla there's a huge possiblity of a virus in them. Vanilla players never have those issues. I've played vanilla for 6 of my 7 years of play & never had any problems. Also, I recommend that you try doing a full repair in Origin on a regular basis whenever there's an update or a new pack/kit installed. And have fun with your sims. ;)
I don't think it's accurate to suggest that using MCCC causes a possibility of a virus. It comes from a highly reputable source. And no one here was posting about issues related to problems with mods, unless I missed something. Just figuring out regular game mechanics. This game is designed to allow modders to have at it. EA is supportive of the modding community tweaking the game, so not sure what your objection is. If you enjoy playing without mods, that's great.
