Do to the fact that you depend on mccs/mods to play your households & not playing vanilla there's a huge possiblity of a virus in them. Vanilla players never have those issues. I've played vanilla for 6 of my 7 years of play & never had any problems. Also, I recommend that you try doing a full repair in Origin on a regular basis whenever there's an update or a new pack/kit installed. And have fun with your sims. ;)
Flat out disinformation - particularly in regards to MCCC. I too have modded many, many games including the sims without any problems at all.
Of course, it is always wise to be cautious when downloading files from 'unofficial' sources, tho' with the amount of tracking abilities in official software it can be hard tell the difference ;)
The files used to mod games like the sims are files that can't be executed on their own, so technically it would be impossible for them to install a virus.
It would be unfair to say that there is no danger at all in modding games. A single Roblox mod was used as a vector for ransomware, for example. Probably more detail than you want is here:
