Rotational players - how do you play?

I see my game as playing the world I’ve created rather than playing households, so I rotate, but play whatever household’s story interests me at the time. I do have favorites that get more play, but when the overall story dictates, I will switch to a lesser played household. Their stories are all integrated, so I will sometimes start a story idea with one household and find myself incorporating another into it, or will just switch altogether. I play with aging off so the stories have time to develop, and age sims up as I want. Since I’m playing a long story, the sim years go by pretty quickly. If I could, I’d slow seasons down as well.
