Sadness problem!

Btw it's not a bug. I guess it just happens because I have so many friends and they die all the time!

Wow. Is yours an older save? I had this type of thing run rampant in my Pinstar Legacy Challenge save. We're not supposed to move from the Legacy house, as per the rules, but my Townies kept dying off. It was crazy-insane. I haven't had Grimmie showing up so very often since I started my newer game saves. I play on Long, for one. Perhaps, you're playing on short or normal?

One way is to turn off the aging or increasing the lifespan in the gameplay options. Most of the sims are dying by old age.
The other thing you can use is a moodlet solver potion. It is in the reward store and costs 500 satisfaction points.

This has been a disastrous problem for me lately, the townie mother of my first born toddler died literally a few hours after he was born and through like half of this poor kids tooddlerhood he was "very sad" (along with the rest of my household). Then two of my sims got a call that some random townie sim they barely knew died, and so the sadness moodlets continued. I thought all the depression had passed when founder died, and now the cycle continues.

I checked the stats for my children and they have spent a little under 2/3 of their life in a state of sadness. There is nothing we can do about close sims dying, but I think sadness levels should be tiered based on the relationship. An acquaintance level sim deserves an our or two of sad moodlets maximum, if any at all.

I'm playing on normal lifespan. I just changed it to a long one! Would this make a difference?

I really thought about the same way! I had a lot of troubles because of that and now I really hate it! I wish if they do something to fix it! It's not fair to be sad all the time! Also, could you pleas provide the potion's name?

Could you please provide the potion's name? I commented on the last thread. I thought it was you haha

I remember a similar situation in an old save -- I was at the ice cream shop (was a download from a friend before we got Dine Out, using the retail from GTW and the ice cream maker from Cool Kitchen Stuff), and two or three employees died of old age while my Sim was eating.

Then this week my Sims' cat ran away, and everyone in the household had a persistent Sad moodlet (other than the teen daughter who was Very Sad but you know how teens blow things out of proportion) till the cat returned during today's game play.

I just had this start to happen since the patch- sad all the time! Maybe they tried to tweak the emotions because so many were complaining? but since they also took away so many cheats, it's gone too far the other way.

Ugh, I missed the deaths of my sims parents cause I moved her out and forgot to check on them and was disappointed she wasn’t notified. Now that they included it, it’s so annoying! My sims met their uncle and aunt and barely got anywhere past acquaintances and when they died they got the mourning moodlet for 2 days. Weirder thing that happened was I had a grave in my family inventory from when before the patch was implemented and I decided to lay it out in the back yard and then 2 of my sims that didn’t know the guy who died got a notification saying someone died but I didn’t read it and cleared it. I looked everywhere to see who died that made them sad, the only one who seems to cause it was the grave from family inventory.
