Saving family to gallery?

Thank you! I know I've done it before but I couldn't remember.

How do you save a sim or sims family with their progress? I've been able to save the sim. but it's like its a new sim from scratch. all her money is gone. I only need to know because saving the sims and placing it in a fresh save was supposed to fix my problem with the game no longer spawning mineral nodes.

Take them into cas.fulleditmode and from there you can save to your library. There's an icon of a file folder, just click on that. Once baby number five is born I intend on placing this family into the library, too. Last time around I ended up moving my singer Sim into his own lot, but in order for the timeline to be correct, as I ended up spending all of my time with my Global Superstar, and not with his parents and siblings, his only sister's kids were just aged up via MCCC. I don't wish to do it that way, this time. So, I figured I'd place her family in my library and then just play things out. That way, instead of regrets, I can plop a new copy of her family into a save and have at it. :)

Taking them into cas.fulleditmode has always worked for me. My Sims have all of their skills intact. You'll have to cheat them more Simoleons when you set them up in a brand new save, but they will have their skills.
