I made two groups of teens with get together and put them in formal wear and made them have a gathering and dance. It was ok! I could also make a dance party hosted at that venue. So sort of doable. The prom pictures didn't work though.
Yeah the game as is just makes things like the prom so hard to do such as you mentioned taking prom pictures and with the picture options not many good options either. Dancing is another thing we have those Get Together group dances that does not work at all and base game dancing alone absolutely no dancing together options. Something that could work great with a high school expansion is a popularity option things to do while in school that could up it giving your Sim a better chance to win prom king/queen.
Seriously so much could be added for high school expansion sports class activities beyond sitting at a desk music art and so on I'm so tired of only being able to follow adult Sims throughout their day.
