Seasons making it tough to use the laundry clothesline?

I was just going to recommend a covered porch! I am also playing a decades challenge and I just put an overhang on the back of the house to keep the clothesline dry. In the winter, I move the wash tub into the barn so my little simmies don’t freeze. I have a storeroom now for plants and honey (I play that they can only cook recipes they have the ingredients for so I need a place to store my veggies out of season). Eventually, I’ll convert that to an actual washroom with a sink and the tub, once I get to the 1930s.
