@elanorbreton You did a good job! I can't even tell it was edited really. I made one with the teen even shorter than that, doesn't look as clean as yours though. lol But yeah I do like this height better. :)
Thank you!
I like the shorter height better too. I know older teens irl can be the same height as parents (or taller), but I would have liked to have had a more visual distinction between the two in my game. It would also soften the blow of the child turning straight into an adult-sized sim if they were shorter. - Teenagers need an improvement. They're not special at all, it just feels like playing with young adults but with less possibilities and just less fun.
- I don't want them to be shorter, the loss of assets as far as clothing options and animations is never going to make this seem worth it to me when the average teen, integrated over the ages of 13 to 17, is only 2 inches shorter for boys and only an inch shorter for girls. Putting that against teens losing all those clothing options they have now seems like an awful trade to me.
- Loanet8 years agoSeasoned AceIt's a posing illusion, just like the teens for this trailer were built more scrawny to deliberately make them look younger. But the Devs are very clear that nothing's actually changed.
I think they may agree with us a little on this one, but if you could have almost imperceptibly shorter teens or a whole new GP, what would you go for? It's a lot of work for very little payoff. Height sliders is something I imagine will come in Sims 5 CAS, but for now we'll have to settle for the illusion. "SilentKitty;c-15762586" wrote:
Well, it looks like mom has shoes with heels and the teen has flat shoes.
Oddly enough that doesn't matter in Sims games ;)
I think this render proves the point height matters for teens.- A height slider would be nice! I don't particularly mind the teens being the same height, probably because I hit my adult height at 13, and I'm pretty tall, so it doesn't seem unusual to me. It'd be fun seeing townies of different heights, though, and how genetics plays into height.

I was looking at this render and you can clearly see the teen is shorter than the parent. I think it looks good that way. o:)

Maybe just a tad shorter than that and its perfect. Someone could easily edit this photo to make them a bit more shorter than so we can see how it looks.
Shame they isn't shorter in game. I mean its only a render after all."Ciarassims;c-15762920" wrote:

It's about realism, that "teens are as tall as adults in RL" argument doesn't fly. We only have a very small amount of life stages in this game (babies, toddlers, children, teens, YAs/Adults and elders) so they need to be unique and differentiate from each other. There would be no talk of pre-teens (or much less) if teens were shorter than adults like they always have been. TS2 and 3 got the age groups pretty spot on (or as spot on as we could expect them to realistically). Adding pre-teens would only mean a brand new lifestage with limited interactions and objects. But teens need to be smaller.
actually I was the SAME HEIGHT as my MOTHER when I was 15 and I;m STILL her height. There's are people who are taller then their mom/dad when they're 15 or younger. so I'm calling your bluff. - Madamelee8 years agoLegend

GURL AS WAS I. But what I'm saying is it's not about realism, it's about making each limited life stage unique.
and with this GP each lifestage WILL be unqiue without the teens needing to be a different height
