@MadameLee What's coming for teens in the GP?
rebellious teenagers? that would make teenagers act more like teens. "MadameLee;c-15771282" wrote:

It's about realism, that "teens are as tall as adults in RL" argument doesn't fly. We only have a very small amount of life stages in this game (babies, toddlers, children, teens, YAs/Adults and elders) so they need to be unique and differentiate from each other. There would be no talk of pre-teens (or much less) if teens were shorter than adults like they always have been. TS2 and 3 got the age groups pretty spot on (or as spot on as we could expect them to realistically). Adding pre-teens would only mean a brand new lifestage with limited interactions and objects. But teens need to be smaller.
actually I was the SAME HEIGHT as my MOTHER when I was 15 and I;m STILL her height. There's are people who are taller then their mom/dad when they're 15 or younger. so I'm calling your bluff.
GURL AS WAS I. But what I'm saying is it's not about realism, it's about making each limited life stage unique.
and with this GP each lifestage WILL be unqiue without the teens needing to be a different height
Well, y'know, apart from elders that is. Unless you'd call occasional back pains 'unique'.- A height slider would be so good, too good I'd say lol. I don't think they're ever going to add something like that to Sims 4, it sounds too difficult. Maybe for a future Sims 5? But for now, I understand that making teens have a different height would be bad for cc, but they still need to improve in gameplay stuff, not only physical changes. I know that the Parenthood GP will make things better but I'd also like to have unique things for teenagers that aren't related to their families, idk.
- In the Sims, there is no variation on height at all, including the average 6 inch difference between men and women, so it really isn't about a realistic portrayal of height. The reason I would like Sim teens shorter is for a visual cue on the life stage, not because teens in real life are adult height (some are, some aren't, but it's irrelevant).
I mean, I'd love to have all different heights like in the real world, but of course that won't happen and given limited resources shouldn't. Shorter teens won't happen either, but it is a bit of a design problem.
Right now you have four life stages with everyone, male and female, the same height. - I can actually tell a difference between YA and Teen. I do my own "story progression" similar to rotating, but really just setting them up with families and jobs, and I can usually tell by a family tree portrait or seeing them in the edit families section, that they have aged up. It doesn't bother me as much as others, but I do understand where everyone is coming from. The jump from a child to a fully grown teen is almost as weird as a baby jumping out of a cradle into a child. I don't think changing the teens physical characteristics is something that would happen this far into the game, but I do think preteens could bridge that gap. They listen to us, loud and clear, they see what we are saying. They knew we were mad about no toddlers, they know we are mad about the height of teens. The only thing our comments are good for right now is feedback for the future iterations or perhaps (though I doubt it, but would love to be proven wrong) adding the preteen stage. If we have a Sims 5, I am sure they will not make the same mistake with toddlers or teens again. I feel like we are all just beating a dead horse right now. I for one, am just excited that these life stages are being broadened. I don't complain much; I see it as just taking away from what I DO enjoy.
- I would defintely prefer shorter teens (with less pronounced curves in case of women too, which was a feature in previous game that
some people teen to forget). That being said, I don't think that would be enough to make teens truly unique. It would just be a visual difference. And I think there are ways you can try and make these teens visually different from young adults (use certain clothes, hairs etc). In fact I have played with the height mod (which makes teens shorter) and teens are just as boring.
What teens really need is teen specific gameplay. Things you can do with them that you can't with other age groups. Right now they're just adults who mess around instead of woohoo. And I *think* this GP will address precisely this problem: teens will feel more unique, with specific gameplay attached to them. So I'm happy about that.
As regards the height difference I've come to terms with the fact that it's not going to happen. The height mod has been updated so that will have to do. "SilentKitty;c-15762586" wrote:
Well, it looks like mom has shoes with heels and the teen has flat shoes.
but in-game heels don't change our sims height. It kinda cuts the sim feet.- EA_Rtas6 years ago
