Self-Employed

Hey peeps,

I am looking for ideas for self-employment which may involve doing things my sims generally do not do.

I have obvious ideas like vet, retail store, bakery, restaurant owner. What else could there be? I don't really want to include things which may be covered under a different career, such as painting or photography.

Farmer (making money by selling crops) or florist (flower arranging?)
  • I had forgotten flower arranging - awesome, thanks. That makes me also think of a woodworker making things on the work bench.
  • It requires regular trips to Selvadorada (at least until you get the Archeology skill up to 7 or 8 and they send you stuff) but Archeologist is a self employed career.

I played a Sim as a self-employed archeologist once. As most of my Sims, I started him out with an empty lot and no funds and he had to make enough money first to even make it to Selvadorada. It was a lot of fun. But woodworking also sounds great. I just really like playing rags to riches.
  • Oh yes, archaeologist would be fun.

It's a shame we can't do something interesting with the herbalism stuff from Outdoor Retreat. I could just imagine having my own gypsy setting up a cure-all remedy station as an alternative to sims visiting the doctor (not that we can visit doctors either, pity).

I guess the closest to this would be selling them in a little store, if they can be marked for sale.
  • You could possibly combined a shop that does closer arrangements, sell plants and herbalism.
