I was thinking of doing some kind of weight loss challenge for a gameplay idea. I've never tried to have an overweight sim lose weight before, but do they lose weight fast or slow if I send them to the gym every day? I mean, I don't want them to lose all their weight in 2 sim days. What would be a good amount of time per day to work out so the progress is kind of slow?
Maybe treat it like real life? I think about 30-60 minutes of cardio a day, 3-4 times a week is realistic. Perhaps even 2-3 times a week only. You can also swim for that amount of time, or do yoga, or jog. As long as you're not doing cardio for too long in one session, your sims shouldn't lose weight too quickly.
I myself am impatient - some of my female sims (or really, my simself's daughters) tend to gain weight fairly quickly for some reason so I send them to the gym and make them work out energized all day pushing the limits until they get back to their normal weight. Then they don't visit for another month.

I have my teen sims go to the gym quite often, since they tend to age up into quite chubby figures. I'm wondering--- is weight genetic in the Sims 4??? I guess it would make sense, but the thing is, my teens' parents are pretty fit too. ?
It makes me wonder if it's genetic because the aforementioned daughters' biological parents are two male sims, but one (simself) has a fit body preset and the other parent has the 'fat' body preset (but he himself isn't fat or even overweight at all). Hmm.
Anyway, off track.. make sure they don't scarf down too many of those Monte Cristo sandwiches either! I like the Sugar Free Carob Coconut Cake as a sweet treat for my active sims.
@KiniHokulani Yeah I find it strange how things are programmed in the game ? Bright side is there's never a bad time to exercise :)
