Seriously? Again with the "hire vendor" for the food stalls?

Maybe this is a bug, but I doubt it. I built a karaoke bar with arcade machines, and put one of the new food stalls out front with a seating area. But just like bartenders or baristas when it isn't the exact right type of lot, no one mans it. I'm supposed to pay $100 to hire someone. Come on. I mean, what's the point? It's not like anyone gets free food even if I pay the $100. If you can program the game to have multiple vendors in a common area, then why can't you do the same for regular lots? I'm not even sure where I'm supposed to be able to use these, then. As much as I love the new expansion, there are always so many limitations to what you can do with things. There are so many objects that even if they function, get totally ignored by sims unless you direct them to it. I put a karaoke machine in a nightclub, for example, and no one uses it. Weird way to program; it's like only certain items exist to sims on different lot types.

Does @Cinderellimouse mod still work with the new expansions and patches?

Will the Sims team please allow NPC's to work these stalls on public lots...

Getting a "too many requests" error from Dropbox, boo! Any way you could put it up on ModTheSims or something? Love your work and would love to follow you there!

The mod works fine in my game. Are you sure it's hers? Although, now that I think about it, I haven't seen the option to hire anyone lately (nor have I needed to)...
  • So, what's the point of the original gameplay for buying a food stall and placing it on your home lot? You hire a vendor, your sims PAY for the food... and what? Do guests spontaneously get food? Do npc sims stop by and get food?

I haven't had a party with one installed, do partygoers get food there?

It only works on community spaces lots that came with Eco Lifestyle. For other lots you can use a mod to call the NPC without paying him.

I haven't tried adding one to a Eco community lot. I assume they work like the San Myshuno ones.

I haven't used them much so I don't know what happens to parks, bowling alleys, gyms that we place them on. Do NPCs use them when a vendor is hired?

I mean, why did they let us buy them in Build/Buy if they are almost nonfunctional?

Nobody uses them autonomously when a vendor is hired, and the vendor only stays for a couple of hours or so.

    Hmm...

For me it is part of the plan of keeping my sims from getting too rich.

Especially now when the bill for a 4 stories-home comes in at 300 simoleons.

I place food- and drink-vendor on every community lot and let my sims pay for it. It keeps my sims from getting too rich and you cannot just go to the gym and take a shower if your sim haven’t built a home yet. They have pay for going to the gym by getting the vendors.

Just a tiny little way of adding something that a bit more difficult.
