Should I Keep The Scar?

I was thinking Erik would sport his scar for a short time and then through the magic of plastic surgery, it would be gone. What do you think?

Before he incurred the scar:

  • Unless it's part of the story you're playing, no scar. BUT if you do it, is there a more faded version of it you could get? That would be best because most scars cannot be removed.

I don't know this scar is from EA.
  • I wanted to ask: did you manually add the scar for story purposes or did it appear after the injury automatically via a mod or some kind of mechanic I don't know about?

I automatically added the scar in CAS. Since my Sim was 'killed' and removed from the game without the camera tugging me to the moment of his demise, I was gobsmacked as to just what happened. All there was of Erik was his tombstone inside the Chicken Yard. It was totally strange. His wife and kids never had a chance to plead with Grimmie. Not only that but Erik has five Death Flowers in his personal inventory. I've never used one before, so I have no idea how it works and still don't. Erik was just gone. His wife just mindlessly continued packing lunches of peanut butter sandwiches for the kids' first day of school. It was so odd, I started a poll to seek opinions on what I should do.

I ended up rolling back a save (I always do a Save As) just to see if I could discover what happened. Instead of keeping the camera on his wife, I followed him out as he went to care for their chickens. Caught the moment when he was attacked by a Rooster. :open_mouth: But, since something else rather odd had occurred earlier in this game, I tied the two things together. I wrote up the story. Then it seemed logical to add the eye scar. I had no idea there were two styles. He was an actor in a previous iteration, and I thought about that one, but then in CAS I noticed there was another one. I chose the one I liked better. Plus, this one almost screams chicken claw marks!
  • Oh my, that's very strange that you weren't alerted of his death. I'm glad that you were able to work things out!

Hence why I also rolled back to save him. I deem it a glitch. He was unceremoniously taken out of my game. Reminds me of an earlier iteration (yes, I've had to restart, reboot, and reclaim him many times since the 2020 March Patch.) At one point, Erik was simply targeted for death. I found him on the ground in that quasi-fetal position. I rolled back the first time to understand just what happened, then, too. Seems his older brother, Aaron told him a joke that caused Erik to go hysterical, making him the third death by emotion I had experienced. I continued to play that rollback, wherein I was able to bypass the 'death', only to find Erik crumpled on the ground, in the snow, in front of his vault. Why? Again, I rolled back to before his twin nephews aged up to Toddler and continued from there, only to find Erik at the bottom of the porch steps (again in the snow and yes he was properly attired for it—he didn't freeze to death). His sister and brother-in-law found him. :open_mouth:

Another player then asked if I had made a backup of my saves folder? I had quite forgotten about it, so once I substituted the saves folder, things played as they should. Guess the patch did something after all. At any rate, this one is a brand new game save! So, what is it about Erik the game doesn't like? My persistence to tell his story? Eerie, much. I rise in flame, cried the Phoenix.
