I built a pool, which wasn't my first one, but this one is different. I do miss the templates we had in Sims3. At first I just placed an outdoor table and chairs between the ends of the pool, but then it hit me. They have no patio. Where should they put their BBQ? The idea developed from there.
I wish pools could have a shallower end though, instead of being all deep end, everywhere. Like the game already has sloped terrain, just wish we could slope the pool bottom too. A giant rectangle of pool, 10 or 12 feet deep all over with nowhereanyone could stand up, is unnerving.
you know, I lied. I have many pools they are just all in locations I have yet to use much of  I also included hot springs cause well I suppose those are kinda like pools but not
this small one in Del Sol for my Mimi and Dudley Landgraab lot I'll use one day probably
https://i.imgur.com/7FzVYse.png but theres DJ station up there to throw pool party (i doubt it'll actually work as i want it to but i can pretend) https://i.imgur.com/dObZZec.png
https://i.imgur.com/gjnFSXC.png idk if I will keep it there its like extension to del sol since i didn't have suitable lot there https://i.imgur.com/PW28BOX.png
(for my grudge house made vacation rental so you might not want to actually take a dip there or you may have long haired company) https://i.imgur.com/4sTu4Tj.png https://i.imgur.com/icJwTYe.png there is also sauna.... why wouldn't you want full spa experience in grudge house https://i.imgur.com/H7ZlUrp.png
I think I will add more generic outdoorsy community pool in Oasis Springs but I am kind of hoping we could one day have rounded pool sections so I could make one similar to pool in stranger things :sunglasses:
aand I might make nightclub with pool somewhere eventually

I grew up with pools. I was just six years old when my parent had our first pool put in. It was kidney shaped. I had to take swimming lessons up at Foster Beg Junior High. We moved to another city when I was ten. Dad hesitated to put another pool in. Mom campaigned for about one year before the second pool went in. It was also a free-form type style. I suppose that's what influenced me.
ETA: I really like your boxy pool and the one on the Magnolia Promonade. The building reminds me of an eatery in the Sims2, I think it was.

Never had pool of our own but some of my neighbors had a pools and I remember this one time when i was just small bean they had yet to clean it and there was lots of bugs in it and i fell in and it was horrible so yes I never campaigned for one  and my dad wouldn't have been into the amounts of water those things take anyway

My hubby and I finally bought a house with a pool. I knew all about what it took regarding care and feeding of a pool, ;), so until we moved to the Inland Empire, which gets really hot, after we lived in our first house for ten years and decided we needed a bigger place, I did campaign for said pool. If you sweep, or better still have a vacuum that can run on it's own, and keep the chemicals up — and balanced, your pool is nice and sparkling blue, no bugs. Plus, you don't normally empty the pool, so that initial fill is normally all you have to do. Once in awhile, you'll have to add a tad more water to keep it to the proper level, but it's not that much.
well I guess another reason is that here in the north the hot weather is rare occurence only during like 2 months so it just feels like spending fortunes to maybe swim twice a year  and you would still need to empty it for winter
Well.... my guys have a dinky little pool/pond-thing. It is from my Star Wars-save, this is a very dry planet so they are quite lucky to have a whole pond hidden away in the shade.
(ignore the river on the upper corner... you work with the map you have ingame :D :) )
