Signed Photographs?

Yep, you can hang autographed photos of celebrities. You can also appraise them and they increase in value over time. I have a framed photo of Judith Ward that I got signed shortly after GF came out. Judith has now been dead in my game for around 6 sim-weeks (old age got her), and that photo is now worth over 5000 simoleans. It was only worth 50 when I first got it.

I don't have an explicit screenshot of it, but you can see it on the left side of this screenshot, hanging on the wall above the aquarium. The white sorta washed out look is due to lighting glare as the photos have glass over them. Viewed from a different angle it would look better.

that is honestly such a cool little feature especially considering the value increases over time like that’s genuinely got me excited to play but I’ve got to be up early to work, bummer!!

Thanks, was leading up to Winterfest. The tree is out of frame to the right. I'll be back in the game soon and will take a more direct shot so you can see a close up of the autographed photo. So far, Judith is the only one I got an autograph of, but I plan to eventually get more and hang them in that area. Just finally got a new Global Superstar in the game to replace Judith, so her autograph is next!

I think Judith’s time is coming to an end in my game too, she’s been an elder for quite a while now... I imagine the game randomly generates some cool new Global Superstars for us?

@shanls96, that was my same question when I started the thread "Judith Died"... turns out the answer is, yes, but it takes a while. It might be faster for someone who doesn't have fame turned "off" in options, such that more sims around town already have fame.

If you see that thread, I just posted a screenshot of her replacement. Totally randomly generated sim who I'd never seen before.

Okay, here's a closeup of the autographed photo. I re-appraised it when I took the screenshot too, and it is now worth 16,000....crazy.

It just occurred to me that this would make it possible to create a Celebrity Wall in a restaurant of the appropriate theme, for folks who have Dine Out. Or, if you don't, you could do it in a bar or lounge. It'll be a fun time collecting them. I like the style of the photo, too bad she's wearing shades, haha, or those in particular, anyhow. Thanks for sharing this, @Stormkeep, will remember for when I get the pack.

@"Livin in Sim" You make a good point about the shades. If I had known I was going to get an actual photo to hang on my wall when I asked for the autograph, I'd probably have used MCCC to remove them. I'll have to keep that in mind for future ones that I get.

You can also use MC to change their outfit to whatever category you want before getting the autograph. Makes it a little more personal than everyone having the same image. Especially if you makeover townies/premades.

The frame colour is random on the framed ones, I think. Sometimes it's brown, sometimes it's white.

On lower levelled celebrities you get unframed signed pics. Mid-range one is like a CL flyer/poster (you can size it up a couple of times if you want it bigger). Low level one is a signed photo that just lies on a surface rather than on the wall.
