Are you able to get into the kitchen? I have been having an issue occasionally with doors (routes) suddenly breaking and stopping traffic and I have seen something similar happen to another Simmer when they were streaming. Going into build mode and moving the door from and back into its spot is sometimes sufficient to fix, other times I have to completely sell the old door and purchase a new one the same style or sometimes a different style putting it back in the exact same spot will usually work. Once it is working properly again, I go and delete the cache files for safety. There were no MOO cheats used in most of these games and no impediments to the route. It just suddenly stopped working - in one instance Sim 1 successfully moved through, but Sim 2 was unable to follow, the door just “broke”. In that particular case all appliances etc were fully upgraded, so I’m thinking the game coding had to find something else to ‘break’ for my Sims to repair. ? Annoying and probably similar to the windows that disappear into the wall until you click on them again (which recently happened during the livestream build of one of the more prominent simmers). At least it is easily fixed; unlike some of the other bugs and glitches.
Could get into kitchen easily. Finally found the problem a few minutes ago. When saw sim leaving the food on a cutting board on the counter assumed the issue was in the counter area, a puzzle since even a counter outside in the yard had the issue. Light finally dawned over Marblehead to try a non-cooking meal such as a salad. No issues. Did some more snooping and saw that the stove was partly blocked by a low hanging cabinet on the side wall. Moved cabinet, problem solved. The cooking part was the driver, not the prepping part.
Have had door and archway issues before that only remove and replace could fix, so your point is well taken. I never think of the cache files. Where are they?
Am very relieved it turned out to be a simple fix. Was afraid would need some sort of major surgery on a complex house that took many hours to build. Thank you everyone for your help and input. Have learned a lot from this.
