Sim hates children, but it's not working out the way I was expecting

I created an orphan toddler, who has a small handicap, and that she is supposed to be blind. She was adopted by Lily and Victor Feng. For those of you who don't know, Lily hates children, and the storyline is supposed to be her acting like an evil-stepmother of sorts to this child. But Lily is throwing a wrench in what I was planning on doing. All her interactions are friendly.

She got the friendship level on her own.

As you can see she does have the Hates Children, but no negative moodlets with this one.

I think I'm going to head over to my other game save, and see how it is going with Vlad.

    I was going to warn you that sims who hate children don't actually hate their own children. But since it's not her own child and not officially adopted (?) I thought it might work. Sadly the traits in TS4 just aren't very powerful.

    Yeah, the hates children trait doesn't really work on the sim's own children. The only differences are that if a sim is pregnant they have a constant tense moodlet instead of a happy moodlet, they can smash the dollhouse when not angry, and they have a mean interaction to "crush dreams" on toddlers. You can try making her use that and other mean socials on the toddler to bring their relationship down.

    @Evie0602 My problem is I don't have the heart to force a sim to be mean to children, especially the very young.

    I think I'm still going to give this family a try, it will be interesting to see how she will flourish under the guidance with Lily and Victor.

    As far as I've seen in my saves, Lily has always been quite sweet and friendly towards anyone, really. She's also always very affectionate with Victor, even hugging and kissing his cheek out in public. They always have at least one child, usually a son, pretty early on in a new save.

    I'm not even sure what Unflirty even does, because the two sims I know, Lily and Darling Walsh, are very often flirty when I meet them out on the town, if its the gym or playing chess in the park.

    I'm the same, with sims of any age, really. Prank Day and Neighbourhood Brawl is one thing, and after I found out how they work, I quite enjoy those. But they are basically friendly. I have the hardest time with actual mean or evil sim behaviour.

    Lily definitely gets tense around children in my game (not so much with toddlers). Destroys doll houses and hates anything child related toys and such in a room she gets tense. She yelled more at her child sim than anything. Surprisingly she was just a little bit better to the toddler well other than when they started crying or throwing a tantrum.

    In my games, they don't really start being jerks until the kids are teens. I've got an evil and mean sim couple who were fairly good parents (not that I wanted them to necessarily be bad) but now that the kids are teen and older, they really love to try and start drama.

    When I gave them a child she did the same, she would get the noodles around other children just not hers. I was surprised at how much she loved that kid on her own but it was so sweet

    If you're okay with mods, there's a custom "Bad Parent Trait" on Mod The Sims that will probably do what you want.
