Sim kids and future relationships

I usually make my kids have a lot of friends and then I just follow their whims!

Same with me, with the looks. I pretty much base future spouses on appearance because I want pretty babies. :D Usually personality only plays a part when it's a potential heir spouse (my playstyle is generational). I have my kids form a club for kids only so I can easily see all my options.

Honestly my gameplay is very repetitive and does get boring sometimes too, I realize that's probably why I stop playing Sims altogether for weeks or months on end. I'm trying to do more stuff and play different ways. So I might just have my sims date around a bit more as YAs this time around.

i wouldn't have the patience for that, at most i give them a job and some simoleons if i want them to be wealthier. (via cheats)

It's annoying to try to get the kids to have many friends when you can't leave the lot without disrupting what the other sims in the household are doing. I don't understand why I can't set a parent with full needs to doing something and then leave the lot with the kid. Sure, the sims left on the lot won't die, but they also won't do what was already in their queue.

if you have get together you can add all of your sim kid's friends to a club and just start the gathering on your home lot, they'll all show up.

i can't play with other people's sims, it's not fun for me.
my issue with making lifelong friends for my sim kids in cas is that i have to update them each time they age up and make sure they have the traits i want, and i have to make parents/siblings for them whom i also have to keep updated. i've done it before and it just gets tedious.

I usually pair them up with whoever they're closest to. They're usually childhood friends and then start dating in their teens/when they're young adults. I like having interesting looking sims, so I don't mind if my sim's partner is not conventionally attractive.

My sims, incl. my young adults, tend to date several people, because of relationship culling at first, and now because I'm used to it.
I don't have time to find "the one" for each and every single sim in my rotation, so sometimes I pair them up randomly in their circle of friends and while I'm playing elsewhere, they get along as a couple on their own or not. If they don't, I can always try again with another sim.

I also have club parties with items putting sims in a flirty mood, unfortunately not a lot of flirting occurs.
I still try though, on the off chance that one spinster/bachelor sim will put the moves on someone.

I play mostly in aging off, and sims can date for (real time) months without consequences. It's stress-free.

I always try to find the most attractive children for my children to marry in the future, and, if possible, I make them get approval of the family as teenagers so that they can do their promise ring ceremony. :smiley: I have MCC tho, so I don't REALLY need to make them marry anyone, since they'll do that on their own. Still, I try to make sure the most attractive children of mine have at least one child, even if they're not the heir.

I don't necessarily plan these things, but sometimes a teen or child will bring someone home after school and I'll think maybe, but it's never really a concrete thing. I'm more interested in seeing how things turn out in the end. I do intend to one day have an arranged marriage for some sims of mine. I think that would make for an interesting story.

@Rebbilina I also have my sims date around a lot in YA years. If they don't, and they get married right away, they usually end up divorced because they didn't use that time for partying and being wild.
