Its not an art style if you use mashed low resolution textures or remove the alpha channel on hairstyles etc.
You can make it look cartoonish and still make it look good and detailed,
or you can make it look outdated and flat.
Theres for example wonderful looking mod hair son goku style that looks more cartoonish than any of the stock hair.
And still people keep mixing sims 3 and sims 4 pics thinking sims 3 is the follow up.
By the way Sims was also meant to be a life simluation yet its taking a sharp turn into adventure nowadays.
Well maybe they could alternate between more realistic iterations focusing on the simulation part and the cartoonish adventure ones. Cant stay a kid forever.
