Sims 4 Cottage Living Livestream + Game Changers Info
Hello everyone! These are the notes I took during the live stream that outlines the info we were given about the pack and its features + features that are coming in the new update! This thread can be used to discuss all of this or add anything I missed.
Edit: I'm also adding some info that I see in the Game Changers' content as well - note that I'm not going through all of them, so again add any new info in the comments!
New Traits
- Animal Enthusiast: sims will build relationship with animals faster
- Lactose Intolerant: sims will get sick if they eat food with dairy
New Aspiration
- Country Caretaker
Group Activities
- Included in free update
- Cooking and gardening - gardening will increase children's mental skill, and kids are unable to use the bug spray
New Notebook UI
- Included in free update
- One feature exclusive to Cottage Living: documents information on farm products and produce
Calendar is included in new free update to help keep track of festivals
Pond Tool
- Included in free update
- Water tool is in same section as terrain manipulation
- Different water styles
- New decorations to put on surface of pond (logs, reeds, etc.)
New World: Henford on Bagley
- 3 neighbourhoods: Finchwick, New Old Henford, The Bramblewood
- 4 lots each

Shops/Stands
- Can buy and sell items
- Village shops can be clicked on to window shop
- Clothing shop allows sims to change or plan outfits
New Lot Traits and Challenges Update
- Unlimited lot challenges
- New lot challenges: Wild Fox, Simple Living
Delivery Service
- Through the Services option on cellphones, sims are able to order groceries or use Zoomer Food Delivery
- With grocery delivery, sims can order produce or any product that's available at the grocery stall to be sent directly to their house (will be delivered right after ordering)
- Zoomer Food Delivery allows sims to order any meal(s) to be sent to their home and will come on single portion plates
Foxes
- Wild Fox lot challenge: foxes will appear on your lot to steal chickens, eggs or produce
- Can be fended off by llamas, roosters, fox alarms installed on coops or befriending the foxes
- Rabbits can be eaten by foxes
Small animals
- Can be found in the world and befriended
- All sims (Toddlers and up) can build relationship with rabbits
- Can be recruited with helping in gardening
- Sims befriend bird flock (not individually)
- Befriended animals can have their home purchased and brought back to home lot
- Can give animals gifts and get to know them (has their own preferences)
- Animals can offer sims gifts
Chickens
- Treats given to chickens affect their behaviour/mood/appearance (can turn evil, or turn them golden for example)
- Up to 8 chickens per coop
Cows/Llamas
- 1 per pen
- Choice of brown cow, black and white cow, beige llama, or white llama
- Llamas will scare away foxes from chickens
- Milk can be drank from the bottle or stored for recipes
- Soy/plant milk can be made by giving cows veggie treats (for lactose-free recipes)
- Hidden interactions to be found!
- Animals have a life span, but can be turned off in settings to keep them alive
- Can make, unlock, or buy treats
- Can be changed colours based on treats
- Treats can increase harvest yield (more milk or wool)
New Crops
- Berries: blueberries, raspberries and chocoberries
- New types of mushrooms: lovely, nightly, verdant, spicy, mysterious, charming
- Pumpkins
- Watermelon
- Lettuce
- Aubergine/Eggplant
Oversized Crops
- Need to be contained within patch, not just placed anywhere like regular plants
- Interactions to "encourage crop growth"
- New fertilizers for oversized crops
- Can be used for competitions at Finchwick Fair
Finchwick Fair(s)
- Different types of fairs per week (can be seen on calendar or community boards) based on different products
- Judges can be bribed to win
Cross Stitching Skill
- 3 different hoop sizes
- Minor skill: 5 levels
- Box does Not need to be in inventory for use
- Children can also cross stitch
- Ability to stitch from reference at certain skill level
- Patterns outside of regular selection can be unlocked through gifting or doing errands
Canning
- Tied to cooking skill (all types of canned items will be available to make once a sims achieves level 6)
- 16 types of canned food (including jam, mayonnaise, and preserves)
- Requires ingredients
- Jams/preserves can be bought at the market
- Canned items can be added to picnic basket
New Recipes
- Yorkshire pudding
- Milk bread
- Cheese
- Beef wellington
- Watermelon salad
- Mushroom soup
- Bangers and mash
- Crumpets
- Different types of pie
- Lactose-free versions of recipes
New Interactions with Townies
- Henford Heart to Heart
- Henford Favour (offering a gift)
Errands
- Can select multiple at once from many sims
- Odd jobs with no time limits to gain relationship, rewards and simoleons
- Ms Crumplebottom has a matchmaker quest/errand
- Good way to learn about the lore of the world/townies
- Can be accessed through community board
- Crumplebottoms (Agnes and Agatha) will be around forever
Creature Keeper (Michael)
- Maintains wildlife in Bramblewood
- Can purchase animal outfits from Michael, or trade llama wool for him to craft them
