Sims 4 Cottage Living: We can "trade" animals for meat!

So I remember there was thread going around asking why we can't get meat from animals and I was always confused as to where ppl were getting the info that we couldn't do this. But I kept seeing that thread so I assumed that it was true and a guru said so and I missed it.

But I was just watching OshinSims play the new pack and there is an option to trade a cow for meat. Which is I guess a less violent way of saying kill the cow for meat but it's basically the same thing.

I have to be honest, kind of surprised. I figured it would be too close to a euphemism for them, but I am all for people getting to pick whether it's a euphemism or a neighborly trade.

I'm absolutely glad they didn't go a more specific route as far as realism. This trading sounds perfectly alright, as it sounds optional. Yes, most of us understand what it means behind the scenes so to speak, but if that bothers anyone they can tell themselves they're literally trading the cow for "meat" and the cow goes off and lives a happy life somewhere else.

I'm actually hoping there's more farm animals to come eventually, and the same option will be there.

I am so happy this was included. Will make it more realistic and my sim can be more self sufficient. ☺️

I was surprised too based on what the gurus said. I doubt it will be a worthwhile option and won't use it regardless, though. It seems like a way to delete the shed animals when you realize caring for them is too hard/not fun and not a way to make money or get resources.

I’m glad they added the option I just hope they give you lots of meat or it’s not worth the trade.

I saw that on a few other game changers videos. Apparently you can also do the same for chickens.

I’m very happy about getting this option!
All my sims are different and live their lives differently. If one needs to trade a cow or a chicken for meat, at least they can now. And in all fairness “trading for meat” is the safest option and shouldn’t cause any kind of controversy within the community. Unless somebody’s gonna try real hard to be an absolute pain in the butt.

As someone else mentioned on here, I do hope we’ll get plenty of meat from the trade!

That's true. Cows can't breed, and they costs 400§ I think, so it would be kind of pointless to trade them for a small amount of meat.
Chickens are different though, because they do breed, so you can really be self-sufficient with them.
Not sure I want to play this way, but I'm glad we have a possibility.

Good that they added it, I think it makes sense when your animals can age that you can have the option to trade them away for meat. I hope the trade makes sense so you get plenty of meat from the trade.
