It does feel that way. Even the worlds have "personalities" but the sims have been left behind. Today's livestream will show us if the Lifestyle and Sentiments will fix that. Especially with the patched in Sentiments which I hope is similar to TS2 memories.
The personalities and sentiments seems to be a really good addition but sadly it doesn't make up for all the gameplay lacking in the packs :s
Oh I agree. After watching the livestream I don't think lifestyles and sentiments will change much. I was afraid they would be heavily tied to the borked emotion system.
Edit: Just watched an insightful video about lifestyles and sentiments. There's hope yet.
