Chestnut Ridge (new world)

- Inspiration from American West. It's a desert world, thus the weather there will be arid.
- The in-game world description:
This community formed when several groups embraced their mutual connection to Horses and the land. The area soon became known as a hub for all things Equestrian: a town steeped in expertise with raising and training Horses, set against a beautiful and expansive landscape. Over time, the area became famous for another endeavor, as the rich soil brought in the new enterprise of Nectar Making. Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved, the region flourished and became the Chestnut Ridge it is today.

- Galloping Gulch
Lauded as one of the go-to regions for Horse Riding, the Gulch is chockful of gorgeous trails and stunning outlooks. Explore the Gulch's wonders as you honor the noble Horses that have passed on at Steed's Rest, explore the perilous Dreadhorse Caverns, or enjoy time under the stars at Saddle Summit Campgrounds.

The historic New Appaloosa serves as a hub for Horse Riders, Ranchers, and Nectar Makers. Whether competing at the Hay Now! Equestrian Center, enjoying a night out at the dance hall, or savoring Nectar with good friends, this old watering hole has something for everyone.

- Features a clothing store, where your sims can plan their outfit, and a General Store, where your sims can buy Mini Animals, sell items, and shop for groceries and goods. The general store is open from 7 AM to 10 PM.
- Riders' Glen
Watched over by the T... Steed Rock, known as "Ol' Biscuit" to the locals, Riders' Glen has been home to generations of Ranchers and Nectar Makers. With open space for Ranch Animals, ideal conditions for Nectar Making, and kind neighbors to boot, Riders' Glen is a welcome community for all walks of life.

- Planning a ranch event.

- Equestrian Center is located in New Appaloosa.
- Open from 7 AM to 7 PM.
- Allows sims to purchase, rescue, or sell horses.
- Hosts competitions, which sims can participate in or spectate.

Horses
- Can be created and customized through CAS. Horses in all life stages can be created: foals, adults, and elders.
- Have two outfit categories: Everyday (when a sim is not mounted) and Riding (when a sim is mounted)
- Horse traits:
- Horses created in CAS can have up to 3 traits.
- Foals born in-game can get an additional trait.
- Horses have 11 traits player can choose: Spoiler
Aggressive
These Horses are cranky! They act meaner towards other Sims and are more difficult to train.Brave
These Horses tend to be stout of heart, unphazed by bad weather or danger. They also have a higher chance of succeeding when using Horse Jumps and Barrels.Defiant
These Horses tend to be more ornery when it comes to training and will develop skills more slowly. They also have a higher likelihood of failing Horse Jumps and Barrels.Energetic
These Horses are full of energy! They gain athletic skills faster but are slower to gain the Temperament Skill.Fearful
These Horses are scared of everything and will often become spooked. Due to their fearful nature, it will take them longer to gain Temperament Skill.Free Spirit
These Horses thrive in the open outdoors and will become sad if left inside for too long.Friendly

- Horses created in CAS can have up to 3 traits.
- Horses are part of the household, but aren't directly controllable.
- They have a whistle icon to call them over and there's an interaction to call multiple animals to one spot.
- Hovering over horse shows the following information besides name, life stage, and relationship:
- Gender (Mare for Female, Stallion for Male)
- Their current feeling (Fine, Happy etc)
- Needs: Hunger, Energy, Fun, Social, Hygiene
- Gender (Mare for Female, Stallion for Male)
- Sim Info panel for horses show the following:
- Their aging bar and a button to their Genealogy panel.
- Traits, including their breedable traits (the one that goes to foals born in-game) and special traits.
- Skills.
- Relationships the horse has with others
- Accolades the horse has earned.
- In addition, the panel shows horse's current value.
- Their aging bar and a button to their Genealogy panel.
- Building a good relationship with them is important as it will help sims to train their horse better.
- Can be hand-fed fruit or filling feeders hay, either bought or harvested from the Prairie Grass. Horses can also eat Prairie Grass directly, during which they might find things.
- Water and play ball also return.
- Horse beds can be assigned to a horse. Once assigned, it can be used to focus the camera on that horse. You can also ask a horse to come there or call Ranch Animal Exchange (to get or sell a Horse or Mini Animal). It also must be cleaned from time to time. Can be put in inventory, but cannot be dragged in Live Mode. It replaces the stall object in The Sims 3, allowing players to make more unique looking stalls.
- Horse poop can be used as a fertilizer or sold. It has different qualities depending on how well is horse taken care of, affecting how well it fertilizes and how much it sells for. Also, seeing a loved one pick up horse manure can give your sim a special sentiment.
- An aggressive horse can cause Fear of Horses in sims.
- Horses can get spooked by lightning.
- Riding Skill
- Can be learned once your sim is a child, additionally building their motor skill. Children can ride horses.
- New riders are awkward (and can get an Embarrassed Moodlet) and can't Canter or go on Intense Rides. They may even be fall off the horse when mounting them (which can happen multiple times).
- When riding, clicking on the ground gives you three options: Trot Here, Walk Here, and Canter Here.
- Clicking on the horse while riding allows your sim to go for either Relaxed Ride, Energetic Ride, or Intense Ride.
- Can be one of sim's likes or dislikes.
Horses have 4 different skills:- Temperament
- Agility - Practiced on Horse Barrels.
- Jumping
- Endurance
- Can be learned once your sim is a child, additionally building their motor skill. Children can ride horses.
- Competitions:
- Five competitions:
- Barrel Racing - for Agility skill
- Show Jumping - for Jumping skill
- Endurance Race - for Endurance skill
- Western Pleasure - for Temperament skill
- These culminate into Ultimate Championship
- Barrel Racing - for Agility skill
- Sims that do well can compete in more advanced divisions.
- Sims can earn money from these and plaques for walls and metal signs for their Ranch Sign.
- Five competitions:

- Mini Sheep and Mini Goats can be bought from the General Store in New Appaloosa, through Community Boards, or through phone.

- Once bought, they'll appear in your sim's inventory and must be placed in the world.
- They are free-roaming (like chicken in Cottage Living)
- Great companions, all they ask in return is love and care. Hovering over them reveals the following:
- Age - They are Young Adults when bought.
- Whether they are ready for shearing/milking or not.
- Happiness - How are they feeling.
- Hygiene - Increased by brushing them.
- Hunger - Whether they need to be fed or not. They can be fed through bottle or can eat weeds or bugs from garden.
- Attention
- Age - They are Young Adults when bought.
- Can be socialized with.
- Sims and horses (especially aggressive) can scare them.
- Sheep can be sheared for Simoleons. With Cottage Living, you can also get wool out of them.
- Goats can be milked for Simoleons. With Cottage Living, you can also get milk out of them.
- They can help out in the garden by eating weeds and bugs.
Nectar Making
Spoiler
- Is a new skill.
- To make nectar, you need an object called Rootin' Fruit'n Nectar Maker. When squishing fruit, instead of putting on Swimwear, sims instead remove their shoes.
- Instead of putting fruit in the tub and seeing what you get, you have to choose a recipe which your sim makes.
- Nectar requires ingredients. If you are short of ingredients, the object has an interaction to purchase basic ingredients.
- Many harvestables and even Prairie Grass and Trash Fruit can be used to make Nectar.
"Yeah it happens to all the thing that you can grow in your garden. Including some things that aren't necessarily food, like you can get trash Nectar." -SimGuruJoAnna - There are special Nectars that can be made by occult sims.
- Nectar racks can be used to store nectar. These can also be stacked on top of each other.
- Nectar will age more over time, becoming more valuable. Once opened, the Nectar will only last for few days.
- Sims can either pour it in glasses and serve it, or drink directly from the bottle, which can give a special sentiment with Foodie sims.
- Sims can pour 1 to 3 servings per bottle.
Build Mode

- One new Lot Challenge, which makes Prairie Grass spread on its own.
- New bed roll, which works like Sleeping Bags in Growing Together.
- Ranch Signs:
- Comes in multiple variants with lots of different types of wood and stone.
- You can place little signs over them.
- The metal sign collection also includes Cottage Living animals (cows, llamas, and chicken).
- More metal signs can be unlocked by reaching level 10 in horse skills, plus one for reaching level 10 in Horse Riding skill.
- A lot of wall décor can be added there.
- Comes in multiple variants with lots of different types of wood and stone.
- Players can now enter Free Cam mode in build mode. This feature is coming into Base Game.
- Another base game update is an ability to paint ceilings. To paint ceilings, you have to go into ceiling painting mode when placing floor tiles. Any floor tile can be used to paint ceilings.
- Horses can go through all the doors, but doors for Medium and Long walls also let riders go through the door while riding a horse. These doors have the tag "Mounted Horse Accessible" in the description.
- Buying the expansion pack before August 31 also gives you a new rocking chair, a new guitar, and a new wall decoration.

These Sims excel at ranch life and take pride in their work. They enjoy ranch chores and caring for their Livestock.
Social:Horse Lover
These Sims share a strong bond with Horses. They have an easier time socializing with and caring for Horses than other Sims. - Two new aspirations: SpoilerAthletic:
Championship Rider
This Sim wants to be one of the world's premiere Horse Riders and will prove it by participating in Horse Competitions.
Food:Expert Nectar Maker
This Sim wants to master the art of Nectar Making, honing their abilities to consistently craft only the best Nectars. They also want to make an absurd amount of Simoleons doing it. - Traits get reorganized.
- New outfits can have clean and dirty look.
- Wild rag: a new type of necklace accessory that can be put together with many different outfits.
- Native American hairstyles will be available in Base Game for free.
Other
- Ranch hand is a new service NPC that can be hired through phone or Community Board. They can pick up manure, help with plants, take care of animals, and fix things broken in the Ranch.
- Prairie Grass is a new plant that grows all over the place. Sims can guide horses to graze or search it, or harvest it to put it in the feeder or hand-feed to horses. The plant can also be uprooted. With a special Lot Challenge, the grass will spread on its own.
- Some new recipes, some from Native American, some are Cowboy dishes. Some of them come to the base game. Pan de Campo replaces Fruitcake in the Welcome Wagons in the new world. Here are the recipes that can be made on grill: Spoiler
