Sims 4 Island Living Conservationist Career ??

In the Live Stream, the devs talk about how in the conservationist career you can take care of the environment and make it looks greener and more full of life. So what happens if you dont want to play this careers. Will the island go dull and dirty, or will the environment only decrease if you are within the career and able to clean things up. ???

  • There's one specific neighbourhood I think that gets really dirty. I'm not sure if there is a way to turn it completely off. Hopefully there will be some sort of toggle.

We don’t really know yet. They didn’t make it clear whether the environment only changes if you join the career. I’m curious as well because the career looks great but I don’t want all sims to join it. Embargo lifts are on Tuesday so I’m sure we will find out then :).

I really hope so. I'm not so interested in this career, and I don't want the island to become dirty all of a sudden. I'm more interested in the swimming, tanning, relaxing part of the pack instead and also the Lifeguard career.
  • Id imagine it’s somehow similar to Strangerville in that there are a few “clues” to entice you to begin the career (maybe a few items of litter on the beach) but that the actual restoration/destruction of the environment doesn’t happen until it’s triggered by the player. Not sure. We’ll find out soon enough!
  • The cool thing about this career is it branches out to a marine biologist or environmental manager. So that's cool.
  • Ya, they are really interesting branches @Cheekybits, but like all of you guys above, I wonder if a toggle for the beach "cleanliness" is available. I hope there is!

I agree, you don't want to go relax at the beach with garbage on the ground. I feel like it won't be really that dirty unless you choose to join the career.
  • I hope it's only for the conservationist career, but I think it's good they added that in. If that can make some people more aware of the environment and the need of picking up their trash instead of leaving it on the beach, great !

it seemed to me in the leaked clips we saw with the little girl playing, that she had to spend some time looking, before she could even find garbage on the beaches. So there should probably be plenty of beaches without garbage on it.
