I don’t know if it’s different on the EA app as I have a Mac and am still on Origin. But my updates always go through that ‘Preparing’ phase, where it shows a big number like 20 GB, before moving on to a ‘Downloading’ phase, where yesterday’s update for me was only around 2-300 MB.

Mine said said 1.80 GB from start to finish. It sounds like MAC and/or Origin are liars who like to scare their users until the lie is revealed. Or maybe they think every day is April Fool's Day.

It's not a lie by Mac or Origin. I watched the whole progress of the download - the download rate and the progress it was making, and it only took about 6 or 7 minutes. A game pack, by contrast, might take 45 mins to an hour to download on my internet. To me, the 20 GB figure is part of the process of preparing the whole Sims 4 package (which for me is just over 20 GB on my drive). Then the download begins as the next stage. Others have also reported yesterday's update as being just 2-300 MB, and while some may be Mac users, I doubt if they all are. There didn't seem to be that many changes included in the update so it didn't need to be a big one.

GB one sounds more like reinstalling whole game

or indeed it could just show whole ts4 size first and then the update size

I wonder if they are doing something bigger with the gallery since its still not available in full

So I was playing the sims earlier before the patch released, and when I exited out of it to get the update I found that I don't have...how do I say this, there is not an update available or whatnot. Do I need to restart steam or...?
