Sims 4 Not So Happy Play Thread & Neutral , No Bashing just your thought's

To add from the obvious others have already mentioned; I would really like for them to get rid of the emotion system and return to where traits, fears, favorites, etc would dominate the Sim's personality and how they act out in the world. CAS is amazing, but once your Sim leaves CAS, they get "re-educated" and become a member of the hivemind in the world, a la ControlNet. Also the socializing system is more problematic for me. Going out on dates often leaves my Sims in an awkward encounter because another Sim just sits with them, gets into their flirty conversation and it all goes downhill from there. You can't just cancel the 3rd Sim in the conversation, you have to cancel out of the entire conversation. And if you try to start talking to your date again, that 3rd Sim is still locked into the conversation with your date (or with whatever Sim you wish to speak to) so you're back into the group conversation.

My relationships don't register correctly. I had Sims fall in love, their friendship bar is very high as is their romance bar, and all that's there is "just friends" in their relationship panel. Another couple who is married, their panel states they are acquaintances even though they are married and have full relationships in both romance and friendship, with whims to get engaged to each other. Also the family tree seems to cut off at immediate blood relatives. Spouses of Uncles or Aunts don't register as family and several generations don't recognize their ancestor grandparents. I know in my culture, spouses of our Uncles and Aunts are recognized as Uncles and Aunts too. I don't know if it's a cultural thing or just the game. Our family ghost who wasn't officially in the household, but their urn was there, didn't transfer with the family during the move. I tried different ways like putting it in one of my Sims' inventory to make sure it's coming, but the Urn is blank and the family ghost is in the abyss.

I really wish there were faithful or loyalty traits added into the CAS or something. I'm so sick of the string of romantic interests my intended "Family" Sims have when I come back to their household. :(

Why no slow dancing option with all the big socializing and party aspect of this installment? Or even friendly dancing together. Sims dance together but their version of "together" is just being in close proximity of each other and facing away from the other, and then turning their head like and owl and have a conversation.

i don't have babies in my game, i barely play something like families
the devs don't care for culled townies, the game works there as intended
they are just asking for rotational baby culling
i prevent that by not playing that way at all :confused:

Love this thread! Let's keep it going guys! It's nice to be in an environment without fear of people bashing us. I seriously tried to like the Sims 4. I got pretty far and tried it again today, but one thing that irritates me, that someone made a thread about is that Sims are toooooo happy!! lol I'm not evil, but I need more drama! I'm sick of seeing that stupid grin on sims faces. :s One of my sims caught her husband cheating, she got mad for like two seconds and even went to go talk to the lady he was cheating with O_o One of her friends died, cried a bit, went about her day....like it's so lifeless....:( And it's like 2016...and they couldn't get this fixed....Hopefully some improvements will come...but I have all given up hope. It's almost two years now. My expectations were too high. The emotion system is not that great =/

Amen, that is why I Luv Sims 1 and 2, I am the only one who controls My Sims, and they stay put and not go off and get themselves killed or some such nonesense, while I am away.

I am a happy sims 4 player but I hope I'm welcome in this thread to voice the displeasures I have.

The illness system has bothered me lately. I wish it didn't even exist because there's nothing to it. It's just basically a cosmetic apoearance that makes your sim uncomfortable. I've yet to see vomiting (and I think actually I've seen a sim vomit less than 10 times since launch). There is no chance of death.

This game just lacks random surprises, there are alot don't get me wrong but just needs more. More meteors, satellites, random deaths etc.

Can I just say I recently tried the mc command mod for the first time lately and I am shocked how I even played without it before?

I can not use Mods or CC, so I would not know bout that, but thanks for sharing.

Okay I do not know whether to Scream or just Cry, because I am still waiting for Gothic Style items and clothes and such for My type of game play, But it seems that they are only adding the same type of stuff over and over again, for Patio and Garden YUCK to both I say, Bring on the dang Gothic stuff like Vamps, Werewolves, Coffins, Cemetery's and such, The only Plant stuff I care to see next is Plant Sims , Green Houses, with compost barrels, Sprinklers and such, Enough with the dang Plants, got enough of that already.

I empathise re Goth stuff @BlueBlack007. I wouldn't call myself a fan of Goth but I had a request to build a Goth type home and found next to nothing to give it that style. I don't play the game anymore but I still love building and even some gargoyles to put on the roof/turrets would be great. :)

Yup Gargoyles, Bats, Wolves, all that type of stuff would do wonders for My game, but I am wondering if I will ever see anything for My type of game play, :(.

I really wish they would chill on the 'Stuff Packs' and focus more on adding new traits, aspirations, story progression, Depth in general!! The Sims 4 is just a lack luster game. I want Toddlers, preteens, supernaturals, pets, weather! No more fluff. I play for 10 mins to check out the new stuff pack then get bored with the lack of game play optionsome because it's still the same boring game, even with the new objects. Please EA, give The Sims back some life!
