EA is going to milk Sims 4 for all they can get and then move on. Anyone’s guess as to what or when that will be, but TS4 is not going to last forever. No software is ever designed to, and frankly the complaining about buying new software after X amount of years is just laughable. Things cost money and if you don’t want to spend that money then you will simply be left without whatever is being offered.
As for a Sims 5 - EA needs a whole new creative team and a new management team as well. The management making the decisions on 4 was, and continues to be one of it’s problem areas. They are out of touch with not only their fan base, but also their target market which ultimately results in LOTS of cringe-worthy in-game content taking priority. Talking toilet? Wrestling masked townies? Baby Ariel? Robot vacuums for cats? These are the definition of novelties that were put way higher on the Maxis priority list than they needed to be. Who chose that? Management. For any redeeming quality Sims 4 has there are easily 3 more that are just stupid and hurt the game. In general I find 4 to be boring and lifeless compared to the others, but that is just my opinion. The game offered no real upgrades and now features that we’re offered day 1 previously are being advertised as major innovations. My 2 cents, that shows the limits of their creativity and capability with this game. Honestly it won’t be any better for a new game.
I fully disagree with your post @drake_mccarty nothing is wrong with what is added in the sims4 and the current team do a great job you also need to see that tech change so games have to adapt take a look at ipad games most game on ipad you have to buy the extra content that's how things go today and you need to think that the sims5 might be like the sims4 where you have to purchase the extra content eather as dlc stuffpack game packs or expansion the game industries will not be going back to like it was back in 1999 or the year 2000 so as players we also need to adapt and ajust
