Sims are not accepted in any of the universities. However, they can still enroll.

In Discover University, my new sim can still enroll despite not being accepted in any of the two universities. Is this a bug? I just find it odd. I enrolled her anyway. But still, what's even the poin...

You are not at all dumb; there's no way to know any of that stuff unless you've played a ton of Sims through universities or read a guide about it. Plus, you asked the question. Asking when you don't know something is the smart thing to do!
