So far, my only negative is that I was hoping to see more new hobbies. Right now, the B&H EP seems to lean much more into the small business side of things. I’m hoping that maybe some of the base game hobbies/skills, like woodworking and painting, will get expanded a bit with the new EP and/or its base game update.
Also 🤞that B&H doesn’t have the same level of bugs as For Rent.
In all honesty I just don't really want new worlds anymore unless the whole pack is about the world (like world adventures or something)
to me hobbies as theme just doesn't need world no matter how pretty I would have much rather had additional mini hobby or two in there

It all looks good but now I have to think about all my current retail stores and how they do not work unless the owners are there. I used to love having other sims visit from their own home but they have not been able to do this for ages. Perhaps if there is no solution I will turn all my older business into home lots and see if that fixes things.

I was hoping for more. I was hoping for lots like in European cities where you have a business with appartments over it not just one dwelling. Will we be able to run a café? A bar? A restaurant? and live over it? If not I would be very disapponted. The focus was mainly on tattoes. Sadly I am not interested in that activity. I would also have wanted Paris, a real city. This looks like a suburban area. I am waiting for the gameplay reveal to form an opinion.

Hm... well, seeing the trailer and knowing what the kits are going for in terms of theme... I'm glad I remained wary. So far, the pack feels like it is lacking or should have been separated into pieces. If the business system added, the room designation and the three hobbies is all that this pack is made of, GTW should have been fixed and the business store system should have been added to it. The three hobbies probably could have been a Game Pack. The mixed lots... I'm not hoping much on that line.
In note of mixed lots, I think it would be interesting if they could do a basic system like that in general. As long as it is a proper room, you'd be able to label it. I've thought this often when it comes to Willow Creek's Library with its "kids' area". Here I see Alexander Goth come in and play in the adult area. Then I see Geoffrey Landgraab head to the kids' room to sit down at a desk. Why?
I've also thought this in just house builds. If this room could be designated as a kitchen, this one as the dinning room, this one as the living room and this one as the bedroom... Would my Sims navigate better? Would they do kitchen things only in the room that is specifically identified as the kitchen? Would they finally eat only in the dining room if they can identify it as a dining room? Will visiting Sims stop automatically going into my Sims' bedrooms to use their things if they realize it is a bedroom?
If not that, doors or signs that can influence/route Sims. I thought this at times with Dine Out. "This door is obviously meant for the cook and staff of a restaurant. I wish it automatically came with the ability to allow only employees in and out, or at least be able to click on it and make it that way." Doesn't High School years have a door or a desk that only the Principal can use? Isn't there a yoga mat in Spa Day that only teachers can use? Snowy Escape has those signs that can make your Sims remove their shoes. Make some items that work like that. "Kids Only", "Adults Only", "Employees Only", "Boss Only", "No Infants/Toddlers", " No Dogs", "No Cats", "No Horses"... - atreya3311 months agoLegend
All in all I am very excited right now. But I have both positive and negative thoughts on the pack.
- hobbies : only pottery is shown as tattoos are a business? I had hoped for two or three hobbies
- The world is small. 3 neighbours with 12 lots should be the bare minimum of an EP.
- The rental units in for rent are buggy at best, and game breaking at the worst. Let's hope this pack doesn't repeat that disaster

I am a very disappointed. This is exactly as I feared. We have a business and a hobby pack. No I am not counting tattooing as a hobby. Yes, I know people have it as a hobby but in this pack, it’s purely to make money. Candy making looks small and it’s probably not elaborate. The only true hobby is pottery making.
I usually don’t care about loading screens. They don’t bother me at all. But if there is a loading screen between the shop and your house portion, then this is even more disappointing.
and it’s not like I don’t love everything that is included. Because I do. I can see myself using this pack a lot. But I have been wanting a hobby pack for years and we got one hobby. That really could’ve been a stuff pack. And everything else is recycled content. Which I usually don’t even mind but I expected to compliment me content. Not be the focus.
I guess I’ll wait to see what the gameplay trailer shows. But usually they show their best hand from the get go.

So we're doing paid pack refreshes now. While I LOVE what we're getting, there was no reason the "Small business" system couldn't be part of a Get To Work refresh, honestly. Still no cashier. Oh and two new hobbies. Two??????????????? For a whole EP with the "Hobbies" name in it????? Come on.
For the complete experience, please buy all Sims 4 packs with your preferred hobbies.
No "personality" system either that randomly assigns a "preferred" hobby to a Sim, sadly. It's all pretend (although the blog post seems to mention "Mastery Perks", we'll see)
It all screams lazy since they're mostly reusing already existing features (body painting from Cats&Dogs, assigning different purposes for the rooms on a lot from For Rent, "Business activities" and "Target Customers" from Get Together kind of, I hope classes aren't straight up taken from High School Years).
Also no burglars or alien "refresh" after all this burglars and aliens teasing, it's my own fault for expecting something but yeah haha, criminality is a hobby too!

My main fear with these multipurpose lots is that we'll have a loading screen when switching between residential and commercial, like in FR.

I really don't like these negative/positive threads as I can see both sides and really prefer to balance them out, so I'll be taking liberties here:
The positives:
- It looks like we will be able to own other venues than normal, such as gyms (at least) and that there is some kind of ticket counter to make money from.
- We will be able to run these businesses from our home with a system that looks a lot like it did (if I remember correctly) in Sims 2.
- I like the look of pottery and tattoos
- I love that you will be able to hold classes in your skill and mentor others.
The negatives:
- It doesn't seem like multipurpose lots per say, but just that you can combine home with business (public) areas, so still no malls, and it's only public and business - not which business and probably only one owner for everything which means we'll still have the issue with having to own businesses to make them function.
- The trailer features only two new hobbies, is that it? I really hope not.
- The world seems small with lot of empty useless space.
- I do agree that this does not look expansive enough (from the first trailer) to warrant anything other than a refresh of GTW. Perhaps a stuff pack which integrates really well? I hope I am wrong, but nothing is convincing me yet.
