So my family had a dinner party on winter fest and invited their friends over to celebrate. Well, it was a freezing snow storm outside and I hadn’t realized this was happening before it was too late. One of my sims best friends decided to go swimming in the pool! How dumb! It’s literally freezing outside and 2 seconds later it pans over and she’s died in the pool. So yeah not the best winter fest but still how dumb?! But low key funny 😄

Oh there was a patch to fix it? Cause it still happens. Even before the death a couple of people started to go out there and just eat around the pool. My Sim kids have this obnoxious habit of sitting on the edge of the pool in Winter, with their feet dangling into the very cold water. Most of the time they've got their swimsuits on, and bare chests. I've had to pull many of them back inside way too often to count. Then I have them warm themselves in front of the burning fireplace. Sheesh dumb as bricks, they are. Two of the have the Genius trait, too. :open_mouth:

I had a water slide outside in Willow Creek, the daughter of one of my key Sims visit her father, who for unknown reason decided to go sliding in blistering cold weather. So when she arrives he freezes to death in front of her. Stop the game, didn't save. Try again and he freezes to death again, just inside the door. Not saving, try again. This time he comes over to her all blue and freezes to death whilst greeting her. New try this time she she travels with him to her appartment in San Myshino where hr arrives in his bath trunks all blue but alive!

??? glad I’m not the only one who has dumb sims. Seems this should be fixed ???

:D I recommend a fence around the pool, with a gate that can be locked in winter

Weren't they advertised as smarter sims?

I had a winter fest party once playing my rotational play. One of my other families were over and the female sim was standing outside during the whole party, freezing. She didn't ever bother to come inside and wound up freezing to death by my front door.

The weather deaths? I shortly turned off "Weather effects" after getting "Seasons". They still get moodlets affecting them, but not instant (stoopid) death, heh heh!

I haven't seen Sims fail to understand the effects of freezing weather (yet), but I have seen the opposite. Strolling around Oasis Springs during a Winter heat wave, wearing the Cold Weather outfit you needed in Brindleton Bay, puts a Sim at serious risk for fatal heatstroke.
