Sims getting too fat or too muscular in City Living?

My sims don't even go out, and end up like that if I don't play them for a couple of sim days.
I had a curvy girl who now looks more like a body builder, meanwhile her bf went from average to being build like a block, he's turned into a brick, totally rectangular. She must workout, and he sits watching her, eating snacks.
