Sims hunger level declines rapidly since IL?

Is anyone else having the issue where your Sims hunger level depletes more rapidly than any other need? I usually use a cheat to satisfy needs when I play.... But I wanted to make things more challenging and live off the grid. But my Sims are constantly needing to eat!! I'll have them eat a large meal and it still happens. :/ I'm just curious if this is a glitch or a known issue.

  • I played with a sim who lived on one of the off the grid lots, and I found it harder to keep their needs up. I ended up giving up because it was more work than I wanted to deal with, especially since they were working as well. There was no time to do other things after dealing with those things.

I don’t think hunger is fully satisfied with off the grid meals. I noticed this the other day when playing that my sims hunger bar didn’t go all the way up when eating fruit salad. A bit odd but probably by design to add to the challenge...idk.
  • Well, I've tried eating larger meals and it still seemed like it was an issue. Maybe it has to do with the Off the Grid lot Trait. Glad I'm not the only one noticing. I really don't want to give up on it... But I might have to. It's just so annoying!!
  • That sounds great, I was playing TS1 the other day and noticed how difficult it is compared to the other 3 iterations, some challenge is always welcome
  • I've noticed this, too, but with other needs as well. My child sim from my IL test family needs to bathe multiple times a day. In the past, with other sims, it was usually only once a day or every other day. The bladder need seems to go down faster as well.

Also, I think the hydration need is glitched. My mermaid spent all night sleeping in the water but woke up with her hydration need completely in the red. I've also noticed that when the hydration need gets low enough to give the red smelly fish moodlet, it won't immediately go away once the need is raised, sometimes lasting the rest of the day.

The Sims 1's motive grinding is insane. I revisited it lately and had to root around for some motive hack objects within an hour or so.
  • Yes. My Sims get a lot hungrier now that they live in Sulani. The hunger bar has barely reached the yellow stage and my Sim is already off getting food. I don't have the off-the grid lot trait active so it's a general thing.
  • I still only have my sims eat twice a day, just like before. They do live in Sulani, but not off the grid.
I can imagine that swimming has something to do with it. If they spend hours a day swimming in the ocean, they're constantly exercising. I can imagine that makes them get hungry faster.

    Ooo that’s a good theory.
