Sims Only Eating Yogurt

Is anyone else having issues with their sims not opting to cook at all? They used to cook all the time and leave their food up until the patch yesterday. But, now no one is cooking and they're just eating yogurt. Just yogurt. Nothing else.
I even changed one of the sims' likes to cooking and baking to see if that
would help, but it hasn't.

**Sorry, I don't know how to take this out of "General Discussions"

Lol ? this community. Months were spent griping because sims were constantly cooking/baking. Now there’s griping because they don’t cook very often. It’s so random and impossible to understand.

For myself it was the fact they'd cook the food but leave it to grab a snack. Just plates of food and the more Sims meant more plates. Just making food, leaving it to grab a snack.

A balance would be good. The Sim I was playing yesterday was a foodie, it was his day off, I've got likes cooking. He had time to make a dinner yet got a snack and watched TV all evening.
I think snacks should be if time was short or the Sim was lazy and not into making food.

To be honest I don’t see how this is unrealistic. This is how most people including myself are. Even though I like to cook if it’s not an occasion, frankly I just grab something quick and eat in front of the television.

Well, it's not realistic for me or anyone else I know. I have a family to feed, I can't just skip meals and hope my 2 year old survives off yogurt until morning.

It's all about balance. They would cook and cook and cook, leave everything on the counter, and starve without intervention.
Sure they eat, now, but the autonomous cooking is completely zapped. Grabbing a quick meal for every meal doesn't satisfy their hunger for very long. I now have sims waking up at 2 am to eat.
Sims used to have balance, which is what I would like back.

Yes it’s about balance, maybe I didn’t say it right.

It’s gone from mass food production and leaving it to spoil (if not directed to put away leftovers) to making nothing at all ???. So from one extreme to the other. Snacks won’t fill the hunger bar for long.

  • Before the patch came out I was concerned because my Sims would cook something but still remain hungry. It took me a little while to see just what became of the food grilled or cooked up on the stove. Coffee table in the Keeping Room. Lots and lots of food, most of which had gone bad. :open_mouth: I was playing a new save for a bit today and noticed that my Teen Sims had gone to bed hungry. I caught the third Teen before he went to bed and I sent him to grab a quick meal. Ham and Cheese sandwich. Even the Dad went to bed hungry. Oh, Mom Sim, why aren't you feeding your family? You're a Family Sim. And your kitchen is quite nice, too. Plus you have a great barbeque on the patio out back. Why are you neglecting your duties as a Mom? Even your hubby went to bed with his stomach growling. That's no way to get him to shed a few pounds! Come on, Joanna. Face/palm.

ETA: I guess this Watcher is just going to have to pay better attention and step in sooner.

I don't remember the community complaining about autonomous cooking overall. It was just the excessive cooking, leaving, and not eating, right? I wonder if the devs just decided to stop autonomous cooking because there wasn't a way to actually fix the issue... Because my sims will cook a meal and eat if I choose the action for them.
