I have my own feelings on how they choose to promote the game, but I will admit it’s probably hard to consistently make new content with a game that doesn’t consistently get good content and one that has a bland/boring base to start off with.
EA clearly is taking advantage of these people and I think that’s a shame. They are basically expected to sustain interest in the game while the publisher and the developers twiddle their thumbs on Twitter and develop content in secret that’s usually poorly received. Which they then use the game changers to try to manipulate perceptions through videos intended to make everything look good. I’d be exhausted if I were them too, but Sims is their golden ticket so they don’t really have options unless they diversify like James did.
